Timing and Process for Admission Decisions
We anticipate making a limited number of offers of admission in December and continuing with a large number of offers of admission on a rolling basis beginning in February.
Scholarship and bursary information accompany the offers of admission. Scholarship decisions are made in May.
All offers of admission and scholarships will be made by May 29, 2019, and students will have until June 3, 2019, to respond. If you know that the University of Waterloo is the university that you wish to attend, we encourage you to accept your offer as soon as you receive it.
If you are not admitted to the program you applied to, you may be considered for admission to an alternate program, provided you meet the minimum admission requirements and places are available.
If a program is available in both co-op and regular and you are not admitted to the co-op program, you will be automatically considered for either the corresponding regular program or another related program, provided places are available. In some programs, limited admission to co-op is also available in second year.
Alternative Offers: Specific alternative programs are listed online.
Deferred Admission: One-year deferrals of admission may be granted to high school applicants. Note: You will not be granted a deferral if you will be studying at another postsecondary institution.
Note about programs: The programs listed are entry programs only. We offer more than 100 areas of study within these programs.
